Paris, heart of France

Paris. It is the heart of France. With fashion, gastronomy, arts, and architecture; here lies some of the most unique shopping, sculptures, and structures in the world.

When I first arrived in this beautiful city, I had no idea what to do with myself. There was so much to see, and only having two days booked here, I couldn’t imagine where to begin. Getting some advice, I realized I had to adapt to the local way of life alongside my sightseeing. Here, stopping for un Verre de Vin (glass of wine) is acceptable whenever you need a break. People-watching is a common sport as you relax on one of the many beautiful café terraces, and the people here give off such a relaxed vibe that you have to learn to just go with the flow.

So, I began my discovery of Paris in one of the most famous locations of the city Le Tour d’Eiffel. The Eiffel Tower. I decided I wanted to make the most of this part of my trip, so I went in the afternoon and stayed for the sunset. After entering the plaza, and getting my ticket, I chose to take my time and use the staircase to the top. There is an elevator option, but I thought back to some advice I had been given. Relax, take your time, and go with the flow. So, I took plenty of breaks on my ascent and enjoyed the views over the river Seine. When I finally reached the top, the sun was setting and I had the most majestic view. Standing there, watching the city slowly light up the night, was such a magical experience, I was left speechless. I truly thought there was nothing in the city to top this moment.

Well, was I wrong. After coming back down the tower, I saw a tour boat bobbing along the river Seine, and decided to jump aboard. Now, the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower was impressive and a unique way to see the city. But seeing the Tower herself, up close, and bright as a shining star at the end of the river, there are no words to describe this perfect scene.

I awoke the next morning eager to continue exploring. I walked from the Notre Dame, all the way up to the arc de Triomphe, visiting sights along the way. The metro runs all along this path, but again, meandering through the city seemed to be the best way to experience all Paris had to offer. On the way, I saw the Sainte Chapelle, Palais Royal, the Louvre, Orangerie, and the Place de la Concorde. My second day was filled with so much scenery, sightseeing, and shopping, I was exhausted. Finishing the evening watching a show at the Moulin Rouge before heading home to pack was such an entertainingly perfect way to finish my day, I knew I would jump at the chance to come back to this beautiful city.
